Kuching Waterfront....Daytime
|
|
On the same first day itself..after the wildlife encounter..we continued to explore the city and the very first place explored was the Kuching Waterfront. It is a 1km long esplanade, beautifully landscaped and dotted with wooden benches, food stalls, restaurants and entertainment facilities.
During the daytime, the Waterfront offers excellent views of the Astana, Fort Margherita and the Malay kampungs which line the north bank of the river, but at night-time it really comes alive; it seems like half of Kuching is out meeting friends, watching a show, or just taking the air.

Semenggoh Wildlife Sanctuary

It was still early in the morning when we touched down @ Kuching International Airport. After renting a car and checking into Harbour View Hotel at around 11 am..we headed straight to the Semenggoh Wildlife Sanctuary, the place where you could find the endangered Orang Utan. The species which are displayed here are very rare and could only be found in Borneo and Sumatra. Unlike the one which is kept in our national Zoo..this Orang Utan is wild as they were left and grew up in their natural habitat and only come out during feeding time.

Yeah..the Bidayuh clan is back in town! From now on I'll be uploading new pics from Bumi Kenyalang. I'm still editing the rest which is quite massive (almost 200 pics altogether) and selecting which pics to be displayed is also equally difficult. And I still haven't got the idea on writing a travelogue..

Haha..of course...she is not my daughter. This entry is specially dedicated to Diana, on her birthday today. Of course again, this cute pic was not taken by me..most probably by someone special to her during her visit to Bukit Tinggi, Indonesia a few years back..I guess.
And the lyrics, as usual, is not related whatsoever with the pic. Its just a very sad song that I heard over the radio this morning, and it keeps haunting me until now.
Anyway..to Diana dear, all my blessings to you on your Birthday!
